So, if I had waited another week it would have been a year since I last updated.
Guess what? A lot has happened since then. But we'll stick with the main points.
First: There's a bunch of new stuff in the gallery. Go check it out.
Second: I finished my undergrad! I graduated this May with a BBA in Accounting, BA in Advertising, and minor in Latin.
Needless to say, I had to make some tough choices the past year about just what I wanted to do with my life.
I finally decided to go on to grad school in Accounting in order to pursue my interest in Forensic Accounting.
I just like the puzzles so. darn. much. And I can't let them go.
But the compromise (i.e. ultimatum) I made with myself was that, since I'm not going into Art Direction, I have to keep up with my art more.
So, hopefully you'll be able to see the outcome of that.
With all the life-choices out of the way, I decided to celebrate in June by taking a nice, relaxing cruise...only to be nearly killed by an ATV in Jamaica.
Because that's what I get for trying to take a break.
Short story: I was on an "ATV Safari" through an old plantation when my ATV tipped on an embankment, throwing me and then falling on top of me.
I was knocked out for 15 minutes, and when the ATV fell on my legs, in addition to being 600 lbs, it also somehow sliced into my thigh right near where my femoral artery is. I say "near" because dodging bullets is what I do, apparently.
36 hours in a third-world hospital, 9 stitches, too many bruises to count, 3 weeks of concussion-recovery later, and I'm as fine as I'll be until the gash in my leg finally scars over in another month.
Ending with a word of advice: Don't read "Shadows Bright as Glass" by Amy Nutt right before you decide to go out and get a traumatic brain injury. When you wake up, you'll be terrified that you somehow completely ruined your brain forever and will never be able to draw, or play cello, or do anything remotely artistic ever again. So, choose your vacation reading material wisely.
